Since leaving...
Found one church where everyone was perfect but they wouldn't let me in.
Kept looking and found an unbeleivable congregation of sincere, loving people... certainly not perfect but perfect for me and they even honor Jehovah by name.
Got baptised as a "Christian"
Lead a weekly "BIBLE" study in our house on Tuesday (about 10-14 people).
My wife is the Children's Ministry Director at our church.
We witness the "REAL GOOD NEWS" at multiple venues... even door to door occasionally.
I handle the A/V media and graphic design needs for our church and a few other Christian programs
Use our house as a shelter when needed... a few homeless people and up to 21 people (non-english speaking "illegals")
Part of the "Ironmen" community outreach team
...and... a proud member of this board!
As a witness... read most of the crap they gave us
participted in the TMS
Faked a stomach flu on weekends of quick-builds
repeated (verbatim) the highlighted answers (lovingly provided by the FDS) to the questions (lovingly provided by the FDS)
half-heartedly tried to get others to come join us and feel the love!

So many of my friends are having so much misery!
Mary! I just spoke to him and NO! God doesn't hate you.. He said he had the same problem with Job!
Now! If EVEN one more person has a bad day, I'm gonna drop my pants, draw some eyeballs with a sharpie marker, stand on my head and post pics of my "elephant man" impersonation.... DON'T PUSH ME PEOPLE.... I'LL DO IT!

Why would this even cross my mind?!?!?!?!
by Juniper inwell, after 10 years of being together, hubby has decided that he's found his 'soul mate' (the second time this year, neither of which was me) and is moving out.. i'm thirty years old and no kids, thanks to the fact that i spent 12 years in full time service telling everyone it's better to wait until the 'new system' for raising a family.
that's all beside the point - and perhaps better suited for my counselor.
:) anyway, the thought that keeps going through my mind is "this never would have happened if i didn't leave" and "how am i going to find someone to spend my life with at this age and who will understand me the way an ex-jw can"???

As an elder, you're obviously in a unique position...
If it doesn't conflict with any moral reservations, how 'bout tape recording any possible meetings that you have. You may never even play them again but if you continue to grow in your "ex-dubness", you might be glad that you have them... who knows, it might even serve as a tool for helping someone else, down the road. Or defending yourself from a he said-he said incident (("she said" intentionally ommited)) If not...You can always destroy them later if it bothers you.
Just a thought... I've been pretty moved by some of the other videos/audios that I've heard. -

Hi OTWO,
Your story is one of the main reasons that this forum has become a huge part of my life! Not for the sadistic entertainment value of hearing someone's suffering... Not for the self promotion of "look how smart we are"...and..Not for the buzz of "look how cruel and foolish those JW's are"... but for the hope that comes from seeing someone like you escape! Makes me think about what Red said when Andy crawled out of Shawshank.
Wow.. if an elder can get out alive, maybe my family can too.
In all the work that you must have done as a shepherd, can anything be as worthwhile as leading the way to safety for yourself and your flock? My wife and I WILL be praying for you... we might even throw an extra couple of puppies on the alter for ya! Don't give up!
